Firefighters were still trying to control a bushfire burning some 30 kilometers north-east of Perth in Western Australia as they waited for expected cooler conditions to ease the situation, local media said on Monday.A bushfire emergency was declared on Sunday when the fire threatened some properties. Authorities later told media that blazes destroyed at least one shed and some fences but there was no reported damage on any property. Last week more than 30 homes were lost in another bush fire also near Perth. Weather forecasts indicate that, despite a respite on Monday, more high temperatures are expected which may fuel further fires in the state.
