Summary
At least eight women including a 12-year-old girl were killed when a stampede occurred at the temple in Gujarat. The incident crop up when the temple doors opened for aarti and darshan. Thousands of people had gathered for the ceremony and the rush to get inside the temple lead to the mishap. More than 30 women sustained injuries. The injured were taken to nearby hospitals for treatment. The state government has ordered a judicial inquiry.
