Summary
The first envoy sent by US President Barack Obama to North Korea met his South Korean counterpart on Thursday after ending a three-day trip, which he recalled a useful meeting aimed at bringing Pyongyang back to nuclear disarmament discussions. Stephen Bosworth arrived in the North Korean capital on Tuesday for talks that analysts said could lead to a pledge from Pyongyang to end its boycott of the nuclear discussions. Bosworth was not expected to offer new incentives to extract it. Bosworth did not give details of his discussions but China's Xinhua news agency quoted him as telling reporters at the Pyongyang Sunan Airport: It was a very useful meeting. In Seoul, Bosworth met with South Korea's nuclear envoy Wi Sung-lac to discuss the talks he had in Pyongyang.
