French President Nicolas Sarkozy and Netanyahu held talks about the Middle East peace process and the situation in the region.The two leaders were seen warmly greeting each other at the French presidential residence. Netanyahu's tough line on settlements, insisting his government must accommodate the natural growth of settler families and continue to construct homes for Jews in Arab East Jerusalem, has not won him favour among French leaders. On the eve of Netanyahu's visit, French Foreign Minister Bernard Kouchner questioned whether most Israelis really wanted peace.
