Indian Chief of Army Staff General Deepak Kapoor on Monday said that India would give a befitting reply to Taliban if they indulge in sabotage in the country. Talking to media in New Delhi General Kapoor said what Taliban had done in Pakistan is their internal issue, but India was prepared to face them. General Kapoor said whenever there is turbulence in any particular region there is always some spillover effect. He said that Indian security was getting disturbed due to instability in the region. He showed anxiety on the operation against terrorism in Pakistan. India is ready to face Taliban, Kapoor added. Commenting on the statement, Major General (R) Rahat Latif told Dunya News that war against Taliban was Pakistans internal issue and it wasnt appropriate for Indian Army Chief to comment on it. Latif recommended that Indian High Commissioner in Pakistan be summoned and conveyed Pakistans protest on the statement. Earlier Indian Defence Minister A K Antony said that the situation in Pakistan is very serious. He said that India is prepared to meet any challenge from Taliban militants. The situation in Pakistan is very serious and terrorism is spreading, he told reporters on outside the Indian Parliament in New Delhi. He stressed the need of serious steps to counter terrorism. We are always prepared to meet any challenge to our territorial integrity and national security from any quarter. Our security forces are keeping eternal vigilance and are ready to fight Taliban, he added.
