Summary Indians say they are increasingly dejected about their country's future.

The Pew Research Center surveyed people about their opinions on India as its economic growth slows and corruption scandals hammer the government.Only 38 percent of Indians said they were satisfied with the direction the country had taken. Thats a 13 percent drop from last year.About eight in 10 Indians interviewed said the shape of the economy, unemployment and rising prices were very big problems.Indias economy grew a disappointing 5.5 percent in the last quarter ending June, a sharp slowdown from the 8 percent growth in the same period a year ago.Pews findings were being published Monday.
