Summary A gunman was killed Friday after wounding six people just outside Empire State Building.
As far as I know there is one dead and six civilians wounded, the officer, who asked not to be identified, said.NY1 television reported that as many as eight people had been shot and that one of the shooters victims had also died, while CNN reported as many as 10 people shot.The New York Police Department would only say there are people who were shot near the Empire State Building.A fire department spokesman said it received an emergency call at 9:07 am and were at the scene, evaluating patients.Several blocks around the site of the shooting were closed to vehicles, causing rush hour traffic snarls.
