A series of attacks across Iraq killed 17 people, including 7 policemen and injured dozens, making it the country's deadliest day since Ramadan began. A suicide car bomber targeted a police check post in Al-Sharqat, north of Tirkit, killing 8 people including 5 policemen and injuring 20 others. While 4 people were killed and 23 others injured when a bomb exploded at a market in Sinjar, a town near the Syrian border. In various incidents in Baghdad and Baquba, 5 people including police officials were also killed.
