There has been a sevenfold increase in usage of Google in the last two year dominating more than 20 percent of global market share, while Microsoft Corps long-time leader Internet Explorer has slipped below 50 percent.Google is trying to convert its web dominance into operating system and mobile software in order to bring it in direct competition with Microsoft. Googles Chrome browser took 20.7 percent of the global market in June up from 2.8 percent in the same month in 2009. Microsoft, which controlled as much as 95 percent of the market in the early 2000s, has seen its market share ebb after disputes which accused Microsoft of abusing antitrust regulators.Microsofts Internet Explorer leads with 53.7 percent, Firefox has 21.7 percent, Chrome 13.1 percent and Apple Incs Safari has 7.5 percent.
