Summary The citizens of suffered a loss of $420m at the hands of cyber criminals in the past 12 months.
According to a report issued from Dubai, more than 1.5 million people became victim of cybercrime. The report said that on average, $283 per person was suffered in direct cost by cybercrime and 46 per cent of the UAE’s social networking users have fallen victim to cybercrime on social networking platforms.As awareness of the implications of cybercrime increases around the globe, many jurisdictions have put into place specific legislative regimes, compliance with which is crucial in the effort to limit the financial and reputational harm that consumers and businesses may suffer as a result of such breaches.
