Summary Sindh government has not released funds for National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases.

Due to shortage of funds, the institution has been confronted by colossal crisis. After transfer of the institution from Federation to Sindh, the provincial government is bound to bear expenditures of the hospital but it finds itself unable to face the challenge.Budget worth Rs 800 million had been suggested for fiscal year of 2012-13 but only Rs 350 million could be approved for current year. On the other hand, the expenditures are more than Rs 1.3 billion yearly.According to sources, the provincial government has suggested Rs 800 million for fiscal year 2012-13 but approved only Rs 350 million. It is deplorable to say that not a single penny has been released in this regard. The hospital management is of the view that if required funds are not arranged in time, the institution may confront with sheer monitory crisis.
