(Dunya News) - Australian fast bowler Mitchell Starc has become the most successful left-arm bowler in Test cricket, surpassing Sri Lanka’s Rangana Herath.

Starc achieved the milestone by dismissing Bangladesh batter Shadman Islam during the first Test of the series in Darwin.

Herath finished his Test career with 433 wickets, while Starc moved to 434 wickets with the dismissal.

Pakistan legend Wasim Akram is third on the list with 414 Test wickets.

Starc made his international debut in October 2010 and has since established himself as one of the leading fast bowlers of his generation across all formats.

He has also achieved the rare feat of winning all three major ICC men’s world titles — the ODI World Cup, T20 World Cup and World Test Championship.

In ODIs, Starc has taken 247 wickets in 130 matches at an average of 23.58. He was part of Australia’s World Cup-winning teams in 2015 and 2023
