DHAKA (Dunya News) – Pakistan lost opener Imam-ul-Haq as the visitors scored six runs at lunch in pursuit of 268 on the fifth and final day of the first Test against Bangladesh at Sher-e-Bangla Stadium here on Tuesday.
Bangladesh resumed their second innings at 152-3 and declared at 240-9 as Pakistani bowlers took six wickets in the first session.
They lost their fourth wicket at 164 when Mushfiqur Rahim was dismissed for 22 runs by Hasan Ali.
The hosts later lost their fifth wicket at 190 as Litton Das was sent back for 11 runs by Shaheen Afridi.
Skipper Najmul Hossain Shanto was the top scorer with 87. He was ably supported by Mominul Haque who contributed 56 runs and Mehidy Hasan Miraz with 24.
For Pakistan, Hasan Ali grabbed three wickets conceding 52 runs, Noman Ali captured three for 76, Shaheen Afridi two for 54 and Mohammad Abbas one for 35.
Bangladesh were bowled out for 413 in their first innings, with captain Shanto scoring 101, while Mominul made 91 and Mushfiqur Rahim contributed 71 runs.
For Pakistan, Mohammad Abbas claimed five wickets, while Shaheen Afridi took three. Hasan Ali and Noman Ali picked up one wicket each.
Pakistan were all out for 386, conceding a first innings lead of 27 runs. Debutant Azan Awais starred with a brilliant 103-run knock, while Abdullah Fazal scored 60, Mohammad Rizwan added 59 and Salman Ali Agha contributed 58 runs.
Bangladesh spinner Mehidy Hasan Miraz impressed with five wickets, while Taskin Ahmed and Taijul Islam took two wickets each.
