(Web Desk) – Pakistani mountaineer Samina Baig has made history by becoming the first Pakistani to ski to the last degree of the South Pole, further solidifying her place in the world of adventure and exploration.
Baig was part of an international expedition organized by Elite Exped, which began its journey from Pakistan on December 2.
The team reached Union Glacier on December 6, and Samina completed her ski to the last degree of the South Pole on December 14.
In a heartfelt Facebook post, Samina Baig expressed her gratitude and shared the significance of this achievement in her life. She reflected on her previous milestones, including summiting Mount Everest in 2013, completing the Seven Summits, and climbing K2 and Nanga Parbat.
This latest achievement, skiing to the South Pole, is part of her ongoing pursuit of the Explorers Grand Slam.
Baig credited her journey to the support of her community, family, and team, thanking them for their financial, emotional, and moral support throughout the expedition.
She emphasized the importance of resilience, patience, and belief, especially for young women who may be inspired by her journey to pursue their dreams, no matter the challenges.
In her post, she also highlighted the honor of carrying the Pakistani across the highest mountains and polar ice, stating that it was the greatest honor of her life.
