KARACHI (Dunya News) - WAPDA’s Samiullah Khan and Faiqa Riaz have been crowned Pakistan’s fastest male and female athletes after their standout performances at the National Games.

In another major result, US-based athlete Noreen Hussain won the gold medal for Army in the women’s pole vault event.

The most anticipated event of the athletics competition was the men’s 100-metre race, which saw an intense contest among the top runners. Samiullah Khan clocked 10.30 seconds to secure gold and earn the title of Pakistan’s fastest man, while Army’s Usman and Rashid Riaz claimed the silver and bronze medals, respectively.

In the women’s 100-metre final, Olympian Faiqa Riaz of WAPDA finished first with a time of 11.70 seconds, becoming the fastest woman in Pakistan. HEC’s Khawla Umar won the silver medal, while Army’s Tameen Khan secured bronze.
