Sharif Tahir qualified for quarter final of 74kg category, beating John Vake of Tonga.

BIRMINGHAM (Dunya News) - Pakistani wrestlers Sharif Tahir and Ali Asad have moved forward to next rounds of their categories of 74kg and 57kg in the ongoing Commonwealth Games 2022.

Sharif Tahir qualified for quarter final of 74kg category, beating John Vake of Tonga.

While Ali Asad knocked out his opponent Harvey Ridings of England by 10-0 in 1 minute 15 seconds and qualified for the quarter final of 57kg category.

On the other hand, Tayyab Raza, in 97kg wrestling, is also in quarter final after deafeating wrestler of Bahamas, Rashhji Mckay by 10-0.

It is pertinent to mention here that Pakistani runner Shajar Abbas on Friday qualified for the final of the men’s 200m final. The 22-year-old sprinter booked his spot in the final after a third-place finish in his semi-final at the Alexander Stadium. He covered the distance in 20.89 seconds.
