Sindh govt takes notice of boxer Aslam's death during fight

KARACHI (Dunya News) - The Sindh government while taking notice of the death of boxer Aslam Khan during a boxing match in Karachi has directed action against event organizers.

According to sources, orders have been issued by the Sindh government to stop all illegal sports in the city. A statement issued by Sindh Sports Adviser to CM Bangul Khan Mahar said that after the death of boxer Aslam, orders have been issued to stop all illegal sports in the city.

Authorities, on the other hand, have launched an investigation after the incident that who gave permission to hold competitions illegally in the city, and to find out whether it was an incident or a targeted murder.

Meanwhile, boxer Aslam Khan was buried in Pishin in the presence of thousands of mourners. Political and social personalities including the district administration also attended the funeral prayers of the deceased.

Boxer Aslam Khan died of a head injury during a fight in Karachi yesterday. Aslam Khan left behind a mother, two younger brothers, two daughters and a widow.

Legendary boxer Amir Khan while expressing his grief and anger over the death of the boxer in Karachi said that all health and security measures should have been taken during the competition and medical staff should have been present on the spot. Both boxers must be of equal weight. The rival of the slain boxer Aslam was bigger than him, said Amir.
