Schedule for qualifying matches for the Tokyo Olympics will be released after Sept 7.

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - The Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) paid the first tranche of the fine to the International Hockey Federation (IHF) for pulling out of the Pro Hockey League at the last minute.

According to Dunya News, Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) has submitted the first installment of fines to the Asian Hockey Federation which has handed over the fine to the world body.

Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) Secretary Asif Bajwa expressed that they were fined 180,000 euros for backing out of the Pro Hockey League. He said that on the request of PHF, the fine was reduced to $50,000 which they have to submit in three installments.

Asif Bajwa further said that the schedule of qualifying matches for the Tokyo Olympics will be released after September 7.

It is pertinent to mention that the International Hockey Federation suspended the Pakistani team and imposed fine of almost Rs500 millions on them for refusing to participate in the Pro League.
