(Dunya News) – Orangi Town’s Fakeer Colony in Karachi displays a unique sight – that of children and young boys boxing in the streets.
Warming up while skipping ropes, punching in the air and practicing on punching bags, these boys have turned the colony’s streets into a boxing ring.
For them, usual street games like cricket and ‘gulli danda’ are not their cup of tea. These boys of Fakeer Colony are practicing boxing on the streets owing to a lack of infrastructure and facilities.

Among these young boxers is a professional boxer who has played in many boxing tournaments nationally and internationally. Nadir Baloch has participated in various boxing events internationally.
With a passion of becoming the next Amir Khan of boxing, these enthusiastic boxers have no dedicated place to practice boxing other than the streets.
“There are a lot of difficulties here, and without any ring or professional clubs we are still trying to find a talented boxer,” says their coach, Fida Hussain while speaking to Dunya News.

Regardless of the scorching sun or the dust in the air, boxing remains their passion and the boys have hopes that one day they will represent Pakistan internationally.
