Karachi: International bicycle race Tour de Pakistan begins

International bicycle race Tour de Pakistan started on Tuesday from the tomb of Muhammad Ali Jinnah in Karachi. The race is going to finish in Abbottabad on the March 20.

Sindh Sports Minister Dr Muhammad Ali Shah inaugurated the Tour de Pakistan. Teams of the four provinces including Fata, Pakistan Army, Railway, Wapda and Sui Southern Gas are participating in the event. The only international team in the event is from Afghanistan. In the first phase of the race, the cyclists will race from Karachi to Hyderabad and in the second phase they will continue the race to Moro which is a total distance of 163 kilometres.The cyclists will rest at Rahim Yaar Khan on the March 11 and then in Lahore on March 17. Racing through different cities, the cyclists will reach Abbottabad on the March 20 where the race will conclude.
