Lahore: Betting on cricket, 7 bookmakers arrested

Lahore police is carrying out a crackdown against bookmakers of World Cup cricket matches. Almost seven bookmakers were arrested from Allama Iqbal Town, Lahore.

According to Allama Iqbal Town police, they were informed that Nabeel Butt, a resident of A I Town is holding bets on World Cup cricket matches. After which police raided and managed to arrest bookmakers identified as Khalil, Adnan, Shahid, Aslam, Saleem, Faraz and Habib; however Nabeel Butt himself managed to escape from the scene. Police managed to recover mobile phones, telephones, televisions, decoders and various other devices. Police then filed a case against these suspects.
