Snooker: O'Sullivan warned over media no-show
Ronnie O'Sullivan has been warned after skipping a mandatory post-match press conference.
LONDON (AFP) - Ronnie O Sullivan has been warned after skipping a mandatory post-match press conference following his first-round win at the World Championship, World Snooker announced on Tuesday.
"Ronnie O Sullivan has received a formal warning from World Snooker following his failure to fulfil media obligations at the Betfred World Championship on Monday," World Snooker said in a statement.
"This is in line with World Snooker procedure as it is his first breach of contract this season. Any further breaches will result in a fine and possible referral to the WPBSA (World Professional Billiards and Snooker Association)."
It had been thought that five-time champion O Sullivan, who beat David Gilbert 10-7, risked a fine over the incident. He also refused to talk to tournament broadcasters the BBC.
