NEW YORK (AFP) - Top-ranked golfer Jordan Spieth, the reigning Masters and US Open champion, has signed a multi-year endorsement deal with Coca-Cola, the company announced Wednesday.
Spieth, a 22-year-old American, overtook Tiger Woods as the sports leading money spinner in 2015 according to Golf Digest with $53 million in prize money and sponsorships, including a $30 million clothing deal with Under Armour, to $48.5 million for Woods.
"This is an incredibly cool opportunity for me," Spieth said. "As a brand ambassador, I look forward to growing awareness for the sport of golf globally and engaging with fans in exciting new ways."
Spieth, who won last week s PGA Tournament of Champions in Hawaii by eight strokes, will be featured on television and social media as well as product packaging and billboards. He also has deals with AT&T, Rolex and Titleist.
Spieth s seven career PGA triumphs include last year s Tour Championship, which gave him the season playoff crown and a $10 million bonus.
