Summary Roethlisberger said he plans to practice this week with his knee heavily strapped
LOS ANGELES (AFP) - Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger is planning to make his comeback from injury this week after missing the last three games with a knee sprain.
Roethlisberger said he plans to practice this week with his knee heavily strapped and aims to be fit for Sunday s trip to Missouri to face the Kansas City Chiefs.
"We re going to tape it and brace it and I m going to see what I can do," said Roethlisberger.
"My plan is to go out Wednesday and practice. We ll see what happens. I know I ve got to be smart about it. I ve got to be able to defend myself. We re just going to take it day by day."
Roethlisberger was injured against the St. Louis Rams on September 27, suffering a sprained knee ligament and a bruised bone.
The Steelers back up Michael Vick was injured in Sunday s win over the Arizona Cardinals, leaving Pittsburgh reliant on third-choice quarterback Landry Jones.
