A 53-ball century from skipper Shahid Afridi helped Pakistan register a comprehensive 139-run victory over Bangladesh at Rangiri Dambulla International Stadium, Dambulla. India and Sri Lanka have already qualified for the final, although they will meet again in the league match tomorrow. Earlier, Pakistan won the toss and elected to bat. They piled up a huge total of 385/7 in 50 overs. Afridi, who scored the century off just 53 balls, made 124 off 60 balls. He hit 17 boundaries and 4 sixes. Imran Farhat made 66, while Shahzaib Hasan scored 50. Umar Akmal too scored 50. Kamran Akmal, Umar Amin and Abdul Razzaq contributed 23, 22 and 21 respectively. For Bangladesh, Shafiul Islam took 3 wickets, while Shakib Al Hasan took 2 wickets. Islam conceded 95 runs in 10 overs. Chasing a victory target of 386, Bangladesh knew that they would lose the match, but they tried to bat throughout the 50 overs and did that too. Imrul Kayes and Junaid Siddique played good cricket. Junaid Siddique scored 97 off 114 balls. But, Kayes played a test innings and scored 66 off 110 balls. Tamim Iqbal made 34, while Shakib Al Hasan contributed 25. Bangladesh finished at 246/5 in 50 overs and lost the match by 139 runs. Shahid Afridi was declared Man of the Match.
