(Dunya News) – Pakistan teams beat the opponents in both squash and hockey matches on the very first day of the Asian Games taking place in South Korea, Dunya News reported.

According to the details, Pakistani player Farhan Mehboob achieved the first victory of the event by beating Jordan’s Mohammad Khalil in the first round of squash games, held on the very first day of the 17th Asian Games.

Mehboob beat the opponent by 3-1.

In the hockey match, Pakistan, the defending champion beat Sri Lanka in a spectacular face off by 14-0.

Pakistan shined in the rowing competition too, as the national team obtained fifth spot by completing the distance in 7 minutes and 24.9 seconds in the qualifying round.

Pakistan team beat Qatar by 3-0 in the first round of men’s tennis game. However the women’s tennis stars had to face defeat.

The men’s volleyball competition wasn’t as much glowing for the green shirts as they were defeated by Kuwait by a score of 3-0.
