LONDON (AP) - The London club announced on Sunday that a transfer agreement has been struck with both Willian and Russian team Anzhi Makhachkala.
Anzhi has sold the 25-year-old Willian just eight months after signing him from Shakhtar Donetsk as part of cost-cutting moves by the previously big-spending club.
The former Corinthians player had been poised to join Tottenham until Chelsea outmaneuvered its London rival to sign him. Willian s work permit hearing will be on Wednesday.
Chelsea is also being linked with signing another player from Anzhi: Cameroon striker Samuel Eto o.
