ETHIOPIA (AP) - Mohammed Aman says he wants to break David Rudisha's world record in the 800 meters.

The Ethiopian teenager, who won the 800 world title in Moscow, says the mark of 1 minute, 40.91 seconds set by Rudisha at the London Olympics "is within reach."

The 19-year-old Aman spoke Thursday in his home country after he added the world outdoor title to his indoor title last week. Rudisha skipped the worlds because of injury.

Aman beat Rudisha in 2011 on the Diamond League circuit and says that breaking the 800 world record is "all about believing in yourself and convincing yourself."

Aman's triumph in Russia was historic for Ethiopia as its first outdoor world title in a distance below 5,000 meters.
