ASSEN, Netherlands (AP) - Six-time MotoGP champion Valentino Rossi won his first race since 2010, finishing first at the Assen TT on Saturday ahead of Marc Marquez and Cal Crutchlow.

Rossi s Yamaha teammate Jorge Lorenzo, the defending MotoGP champion, finished fifth despite racing with a broken left collarbone sustained just two days ago in a high-speed crash during practice.

Rossi underwent surgery on Friday in which the bone was fixed in place with a titanium plate and eight screws.

Dani Pedrosa finished fourth and remains atop the general standings, but he gained little ground on Lorenzo, who remains second overall.
