Summary CDA chief says compromise on transparent funds’ utilization in the games.
ISLAMABAD (Online): Chairman Capital Development Authority Nadeem Hassan Asif on Thursday stated that 32nd National Games will kick-off Friday, despite all rumors and odd situations.
Addressing a press conference in the Islamabad Sports Complex, the Chairman CDA who is also the chairman of 32nd National Games organizing committee, said that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s support is with them to promote sports in the country and they would not compromise on transparent funds utilization during the Games.
“We have tried our best to get the Prime Minister as chief guest of the inauguration ceremony, but he would not attend the ceremony due to his busy schedule”, he stated.
Nadeem said that all the security arrangements have been made to conduct the 32nd National Games in smooth, peaceful and befitting manner.
“All the athletes who are performing in the Games will be provided the best available facilities and we have made excellent accommodation arrangements for both male and female athletes,” he added.
Nadeem said that teams from all the four provinces, AJK, Gilgit-Baltistan, FATA, Pakistan Army, Air Force, Navy and Railways will participate in the Games.
He stated that 11 events for females and 29 events for males are included in the National Games.
Nadeem said that around 2000 athletes will be participating in the games that are being held at Pakistan Sports Complex Islamabad from June 28 to July 4.
Chairman Pakistan Olympic Association interim committee Asif Bajwa and Secretary Rana Mujahid were also present on the occasion.
Speaking to the media men, Rana Mujahid said, “We are holding the Games as per the charter of International Olympic Committee and we are well wishers of sports. We want to give maximum sporting facilities to the sporting fraternity.”
