BRISBANE, Australia (AP) - Queensland remains on course for the Super 15 semifinals and Quade Cooper laid his claim to the Wallabies flyhalf spot for the upcoming British and Irish Lions tour as the Reds earned a bonus point in a 33-20 win over a spirited Melbourne Rebels on Saturday.

 

After a slow start, Cooper kicked a crucial dropped goal before halftime and barged over for a solo try in the second half to outshine Rebels 10 James O Connor

 

Australia coach Robbie Deans  first choice as Wallabies flyhalf.

 

Michael Harris crossed for Queensland s fourth try moments before fulltime to give the Reds the bonus point and leave them just four points behind the Australian conference-leading ACT Brumbies heading into the mid-tournament break.
