MADRID (AP) - Roberto Soldado scored twice to lead Valencia to a 3-0 win at Rayo Vallecano Sunday, provisionally lifting the team into fourth place and giving it control of Spain s final Champions League berth.
Soldado slotted in a penalty in the 28th minute after Jordi Figueras had fouled Dani Parejo in the area.
He added a second goal in the 34th to take his season league tally to 21 goals, and Andres Guardado sealed the victory in the 62nd.
Barcelona clinched the league title Saturday after Real Madrid drew 1-1 at Espanyol.
Barcelona, Madrid, and Atletico Madrid have already locked up the other three Champions League berths.
