SYDNEY (AP) - Tour de France director Christian Prudhomme says while professional cycling still has problems, the sport has changed considerably since the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency last year released a scathing report on systematic doping by Lance Armstrong and his teams.

Prudhomme, in Australia for several speaking engagements, said Wednesday an agreement between the International Cycling Union (UCI) and the French anti-doping agency to conduct tests at this year s Tour made cheating even harder than under world sporting rules.

He said the doping that resulted in Armstrong being stripped of his seven Tour de France titles was the past.

Armstrong "wasn t there last year, he wasn t there the year before," Prudhomme says. "Cycling is not a perfect world, but it has changed."
