Paul Collingwood's century helped England to go 1-0 up in the one day series against South Africa. Collingwood and Jonathan Trott's stand of 162 helped England to a seven-wicket win at Centurion.Their task looked difficult when Andrew Strauss and Kevin Pietersen were both gone with only 45 on the scoreboard. But Collingwood, who ended on 105 not out, also performed well in the field. The all-rounder was making a record-breaking 171st one day international appearance, one more than former captain Alec Stewart. It was his fifth one day hundred and he was supported by Trott who made 87.The home side were restricted to 250 for 9 in their 50 overs. South Africa's total was only nine runs higher than they made in a Twenty20 match against England a week ago. Their innings was helped by half-centuries from Hashim Amla and Alviro Petersen. There are three more matches in the series. Opening batsman Alastair Cook will remain in Pretoria for treatment on a back problem while his teammates move on to Cape Town.
