Pakistan Cricket Team Captain Younus Khan on Tuesday tendered his resignation on allegations of match fixing in the meeting of Senates Standing Committee for Sports while Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Ijaz Butt vowed to make a decision regarding the resignation in October 19 meeting of PCBs governing body, reported Dunya News.The Standing Committee for Sports Chairman Jamshed Dasti had summoned Chairman PCB Ijaz Butt, Coach Intikhab Alam, and Captain Younus Khan in the committees meeting after it lost to New Zealand in the semi final of the Champions Trophy. Khan was accused of fixing the match against New Zealand by Jamshed Dasti upon teams arrival in Pakistan. Younus Khan heard the views of the committee during the meeting patiently and on his turn presented his resignation to Ijaz Butt. The chairman PCB rejected his resignation during the meeting; however, Younus Khan presented it again to Ijaz Butt after the meeting. Butt said the decision to accept or reject the resignation would be made in the PCBs governing board meeting on October 19.On the other hand, Jamshed Dasti backed out from his own statement as if he never talked about match fixing. He said that rumors about the match fixing had died down after the meeting. Federal Minister for Sports Peer Aftab Shah Jilani appealed Younus Khan to withdraw his resignation for the sake of national team.
