Summary
Former Cricketer Basit Ali said that bad umpiring was the main reason of Pakistans defeat in the semi final. He said that the umpires belonged to Australia and England and did not want to see Pakistan in the final. Pakistan Cricket Board should raise voice against bad umpiring, he added. Talking to Dunya News exclusively after the second semi final, Basit Ali said that he was not afraid of talking against any wrong decision. Umer Akmal played an important innings of 55 runs at a time when players could not produce long partnerships, he lauded. But he was adjudged lbw, by the Australian umpire, after playing the ball onto his pad and this was the last hope for Pakistans batting while the umpires did not raise their finger against New Zealand players as they were out clearly. Basit Ali maintained that PCB should protest against the decisions.
