Pakistan defeated West Indies in ICC Champions Trophy match. Umer Akmal played unbeatable innings of 41 runs and declared man of the match. West Indies won the toss and elected to bat first in the match played in Johannisberg. But inexperienced West Indies batsmen could not survive against Pakistani bowlers and their 7 players were out at the score of 47. Miller made 51 runs consolidating the score and West Indies team reached at score of 133. Fast bowlers Muhammad Aamir and Omer Gul took 3 wickets each. Chasing the target, Pakistani top batting line flopped again. Openers Imran Nazir and Kamran Akmal made 5 runs each while Shoaib Malik and Muhammad Yousaf made 23 runs each. Misbah could also make only 6 runs. Captain Shahid Afridi and especially young player Umer Akmal played sensibly and ensured convincing victory for the team.
