Summary Covic and Haliti sign with new A-League outfit Western Sydney Wanderers.
Former Australian international goalkeeper Ante Covic and Newcastle Jets forward Labinot Haliti are the latest players to sign with new A-League outfit Western Sydney Wanderers, the club said Monday.Covic, 37, who made three appearances for the national side, joined the Wanderers from Melbourne Victory where he was the clubs player of the year last season.Kosovo-born Haliti, 27, moved to Western Sydney following three years at the Newcastle Jets where he netted 15 times in 92 appearances.The pairs signings took the number of players secured by Western Sydney Wanderers to nine as they build to their inaugural A-League home game against Central Coast Mariners on October 6.Meanwhile, Melbourne Heart on Monday announced the signing of Sudanese-born attacker Golgol Mebrahtu, whose former A-League club Gold Coast United is now defunct, leaving him a free agent.Mebrahtu, 21, signed a two-year deal and joined the Hearts other new signings, Irish defender Steven Gray and Liberian international midfielder Patrick Gerhardt.
