Summary The entire Kenyan rugby Sevens squad and coaches have been sacked after a poor season.

Mitch Ocholla, who took over as head coach only eleven months ago, and the entire technical bench were fired and the team disbanded after Kenya finished out of the top 10 in the IRB series for the first time in five seasons.“The structuring is aimed at creating a professional environment to enable the team achieve its potential and to develop depth and strength in its playing squad,” said Kenya Rugby Union director of elite performance Philip Jalango.“We are also out to develop a highly qualified home-bred coaching team, trained by a foreign coach with a view of not only competing in the IRB series but also winning an IRB leg.“We want to be able to compete effectively at the World Cup, Commonwealth Games and the Olympics (2016).”Jalango said Friday, who has been coaching London Welsh, has the credentials to take Kenya back to the top level in the 2012-2013 season starting in October.
