Summary Muhammad Shafiq defeated national champion Amjad Hafeez in the Punjab Chess Championship.
At least 61 players are participating in the Punjab Chess Championship which is underway in Lahore. On the second day of the championship, Muhammad Shafiq handed an upset defeat to national champion Amjad Hafeez.In the other matches played today, Dr Tahir Anees, Haroon Ahmad, Feroze Alam and Rashid Parvaiz won their respective matches to enter third round. The championship will end on Sunday.
