Summary
Gujranwala police mercilessly tortured a youth who was arrested on fake charges of theft. After getting release, the youth committed suicide eating poisonous pills. The relatives of the youth took the dead body at road and staged protest. The officials suspended three employees including in-charge who were involved in torture case. Police arrested on charges of theft an 18-year-old Qasim, son of a poor barber Sahib of Hyberabad area of Ali Pur Chatha. The police tortured Qasim. Father of Qasim gave bribe to store owner and got released his son. Qasim committed suicide after getting release from jail. After this incident, the relatives took to streets and protested against brutality of police.
