Rescue 1122 team recovered bodies from Abdullahpur underpass site after 3 days.


FAISALABAD (Dunya News) - After three days of efforts, rescue team on Monday finally succeeded to recover bodies of four people drowned in under-constructed underpass in Faisalabad.


According to Rescue 1122 officials, after struggle of three days their team recovered three more bodies from Abdullahpur underpass site which was flooded by water of the Rakh Branch Canal accumulated in the underpass.


On Sunday body of a man identified as Mehmood Ahmed, 28, a resident of Abdullahpur was recovered by the rescue team.


The rescue operation was supervised by Punjab Emergency Service (Rescue 1122) Director General Rizwan Naseer. A contingent of rescuers was called from Lahore to help with the operation.


At least four people were trapped under the earth after water from the Rakh Branch Canal accumulated in the underpass.


On Sunday, the families of four missing people protested against the district coordination officer accusing him of starting the rescue with a delay and “not taking interest in the operation”.


They were joined by residents of some colonies nearby at the Abdullah Chowk.
