Summary The low gas pressure has badly affected the domestic consumers in twin cities.

 

ISLAMABAD: Due to low gas pressure, the domestic consumers especially house wives are facing a lot of difficulties in cooking and staying warm during chilly weather that has broken record of 50 years in twin cities respectively.

 

Despite the fact that government has closed CNG for vehicles, the domestic consumers from Koral Chowk till Airport and in various sectors of federal capital are braving the low gas pressure.

 

The worst hit areas are Gulzar-e-Quaid, Faisal Colony, Koral, Committee chowk, Adiala, Deri Hassan, Babar colony, G-6, G-7, G-9, I-9, I-10 and F-7

 

The gas pressure is recorded almost zero early in the morning and evening due to which we have to go for hotels and tandoors to get cooked food and bread which is quite expensive and it is difficult for poor people to obtain food, a house wife said.

 

Another domestic consumer added that despite the closure of CNG the problem of gas could not be resolve yet and the rising demand of LPG as an alternative has put extra burden on the pocket of poor people.

 

Meanwhile, the house wives demanded to ensure the high gas pressure in morning and evening so that they can cook food for their families.

When contacted, Sui Northern Gas Company authorities said few areas of twin cities are facing low gas pressure and company is making its best effort to overcome and ensure smooth and high pressure of gas so that the masses would get some relief from gas.
