LARKANA: A wall collapsed due to heavy stampede on roof of BISP office, killing one beneficiary woman, wounding six others, after they fell down, here on Wednesday.
According to the police, hundreds of beneficiaries of Benazir Income Support Program (BISP), moved on roof, collapsing its walls due to heavy stampede, down from top floor, here in the jurisdiction of Waleed Police.
They were rushed to the Chandka Medical Hospital Emergency Ward Larkana, where one of BISP beneficiary Nazul W/o Mohammed Younas Abro resident of near DC high School Larkana succumbed to her injuries, while conditions of six others were said to be serious.
Sources have criticized the pathetic lack of any planning by BISP officials and Bank administration in Larkana, to disburse the amount among beneficiaries, which resulted the heavy stampede and mismanagement of authorities, as deliberated by an official Assistant Commissioner Larkana Masood Ahmed Bhutto.
He has assured of an enquiry to be conducted, with proper action taken against them.
Meanwhile, Anti-Corruption Department raided the TMO office in Larkana, seized official record of TMA and arrested Auditor Karim Bux Sheikh and others, against alleged corruption charges of millions worth of funds.
Sources disclosed that the Taluka Municipal Officer Ghulam Mustafa Hulio escaped from the scene and took away some record along with him.
