Summary Drive starting Monday will immunize more than 51,000 children of eight UCs.
ISLAMABAD: The District Administration of federal capital is all set to kick off a three-day anti-polio campaign from Monday which will go a long way to immunize more than 51,000 children of eight union councils.
According to an official handout issued here on Sunday, during the anti-polio drive as many as 51,648 children would be immunized against polio in the eight union councils of Islamabad for which 121 polio teams have been formed.
Deputy Commissioner Islamabad, Amer Ali Ahmed, has directed polio teams to put in more hard work for eradication of polio and achieve the fixed targets without fail.
He said that 7 transit and 8 fixed points have also been set up in the rural areas.
“Deputy Commissioner would personally monitor the progress of immunization campaign on daily basis, said the handout, adding that District Health officer(DHO), Islamabad, Assistant Commissioner (Rural) and 28 area and union councils in charges would be in the fields to monitor the progress of polio teams and submit their reports.
The campaign would be carried out in eight union councils namely Tarlai, Sohan and Rawat would be covered wholly, while, union councils of Bhara Kau, Kurri, Kirpa, Sihala and Koral would be covered partly.
