LAHORE: Secretary General Jamat-e-Islami Liaquat Baloch has said that using LPG gas cylinder in spite of CNG in vehicles is a criminal offence but unfortunately police would not take any action against this unlawful act.
In an issued press statement from his office on Tuesday, he said that transporters used LPG gas because of long-term three days load shedding of CNG, police and government have no check on the sub standard gas cylinders causing deaths and hundreds and injured thousands.
Revealed statement said that it was not the first incident of exposing of gas cylinder in Manga Mandi, countless incidents had already reported but no one turned deaf ear to those incidents.
Liaquat Baloch asserted that instalment of cylinders on roofs and under the seats of vehicles was prohibited but it was observed that wagons had installed three cylinders instead of one but no one will ask them.
Moreover, clear deficiency has been observed in CNG prises but transporters did not make any compensation in fares, which is cruelty, admitted in press release.
Secretary General JI said that transport mafia and administration have joined hands and both were busy in looting poor by both hands.
He demanded ban on installation of cylinders on roofs and under the seats of vans and to confine transporters to install only one cylinder in one van.
