Summary City District Government, Rawalpindi, will implement a new system for keeping the city clean.
When contacted, District Officer Solid Waste Management, Dr Mazhar Azeem said that presently, out of 900 tons of dump of the city, only 40 percent is disposed of, but in accordance with the new plan, a target has been set to rid the city of the entire dump regularly.
Sources said that preparation of the master plan for maintaining cleanliness in the city has been started. The services of Lahore Waste-management Company have also been sought in this regard, they added.
According to the new plan, the garbage of Rawalpindi city will be lifted on daily basis with the help of state-of-the-art machinery.
A new lot of drivers and sanitary workers will also be hired.
