Demo against killing of journalist in Balochistan

The demonstration was held against murder of senior journalist Khalid Musa Mengal, who was gunned down by unknown assailants on Tuesday in Turbat.Addressing the participants, veteran politician and National Party Chairman Senator Hasil Bizinjo deplored that the Balochistan government had completely failed to ensure a safe sailing for journalists in the province despite tall claims.He said that Balochistan had become one of the most dangerous places for journalists, where so-called unknown assailants were targeting them with impunity.He assured the journalist community that his party stood alongside them in its struggle for freedom of expression in the country.Secretary KUJ, Aamir Latif pointed out that Khalid Musa was the 26th journalist who had been killed in Balochistan during last few years.He said the last ten months had turned out to be deadliest as a journalist had been killed after every few weeks during that period.He called upon all the journalist organizations to chalk out a joint strategy to raise voice against violence more effectively.Senior journalists Ghazi Sallahuddin, Zaffar Abbas, Habib Khan Ghouri, Maqsod Yusufi, Shams Kerio and others also participated in the demonstration.
