Law and order situation improved and routine life resumed in Layari area of Karachi today after violent riots. According to police officials, in Umar Line, Sango Lane and Bakra Peri area of Layari, at least 5 people were killed including two police personnel and more than 50 injured during firing and blasts two days back. The area was seen as battle field near Kalakot and Chakiwara police stations. However, the situation has improved in the affected areas and markets remained open throughout the day. Pakistan Rangers and Police continued patrolling in the area while police posts have been set on rooftops of different buildings.
