Summary At least 150 illegal Afghan refugees were arrested in Muzaffarabad during an operation.
On the direction of SSP Muzaffarabad, City police and Saddar police started crack down for the illegal Afghan nationals. The search operation took place when an Afghan National namely Israr was arrested by police and 7 kg explosive material and 180 feet wire were recovered from him.During interrogations Israr revealed that a large number of Afghan refuges are illegally staying in the capital due to which SSP high alerted all police stations immediately and arrested 150 afghan refuges in crack down and started thorough investigation from them.Meanwhile, SSP Shafqat appealed from public that they should be well aware of their surrounding environment and no one should give their homes, hotels for rent to strangers.He further said that if people see any suspicious activity they should inform nearby police station and Rescue 15 immediately to avoid any untoward incident.
